Harbourfront Centre | Tafelmusik
June 26, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
FreeTafelmusik musicians enliven a summer afternoon in a magical setting! Fronting on Toronto’s inner harbour, the Toronto Music Garden is one of the city’s most enchanting locations. The idea for a park inspired by Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello came from world-renowned cellist, Yo-Yo Ma, who collaborated with garden designer Julie Messervy. Julia Wedman and Cristina Zacharias, violins, Brandon Chui, viola, and Michael Unterman, violoncello, perform a selection of music by baroque composers including Leclair, Purcell, Handel, and Bach. A highlight of the program is Bach’s Ciaconna in D Minor in an arrangement by Music Director Emerita Jeanne Lamon.
