DESCRIPTION:Tafelmusik musicians enliven a summer afternoon in a magical setting! Fronting on Toronto’s inner harbour\, the Toronto Music Garden is one of the city’s most enchanting locations. The idea for a park inspired by Bach’s First Suite for Unaccompanied Cello came from world-renowned cellist\, Yo-Yo Ma\, who collaborated with garden designer Julie Messervy. Julia Wedman and Cristina Zacharias\, violins\, Brandon Chui\, viola\, and Michael Unterman\, violoncello\, perform a selection of music by baroque composers including Leclair\, Purcell\, Handel\, and Bach. A highlight of the program is Bach’s Ciaconna in D Minor in an arrangement by Music Director Emerita Jeanne Lamon.
