For more than 100 years, the Faculty of Music has been Canada’s leading institution for music creation, performance education, and innovative research. As a cultural cornerstone in one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic cities, the Faculty prepares future generations of arts leaders—hundreds of performers, composers, scholars, and educators who shape tomorrow’s musical experience, sustain Canada’s cultural economy, and have significant impact in our world.

The Faculty’s distinguished alumni have won numerous awards for their work, including an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, Grammy Awards, and numerous Genie and Juno Awards. Dozens of prominent Canadian arts organizations, such as the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Canadian Opera Company, Tafelmusik, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, trace their roots to the Faculty or our alumni, and our position as a builder of Canadian culture continues to this day with faculty members and alumni playing prominent roles on- and off-stages as performers, organizational leaders, and influential scholars.
