2019-20 Amadeus Choir

Join Kathleen Allan in her first year as Artistic Director and conductor of the Amadeus Choir of Toronto.

Featuring the Bach Children’s Chorus, Charissa Bagan, Artistic Director

Works from throughout the ages comment on humanity’s relationship with the earth and the environment. Music by Brahms, Emily Doolittle*, Rodrigo Cadet and Lori Laitman culminates in Cecilia McDowall’s large work for mixed choir, children’s choir, piano and percussion, A Time for All Seasons. The text beautifully weaves the famous lines from Ecclesiastes (“To everything there is a season, […] a time to plant, a time to pluck up what has been planted, […] a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace”) with new poetry by Kevin Crossley-Holland highlighting the timeliness of caring for the planet.
