THE SCOOP | The Royal Conservatory Is Giving Away 400,000 Books To Music Teachers

By Michael Vincent on April 4, 2022

Music book

The Royal Conservatory of Music has announced they will be providing free copies of its Celebration Series to 20,000 music teachers across Canada and the US.

The new sixth edition will be released on April 27, 2022, and will include 514 pieces across 12 Repertoire and 10 Études books writers by composers from over 20 countries.

Clever PR stunts aside…

… we can get behind anything that fuels music education.

“The work of music teachers is more important than ever because the capacity to create and love music elevates the human condition in a way that no other activity can match,” said RCM President & CEO Dr. Peter Simon in a statement. “Since the COVID-19 pandemic, our focus has been to ensure the continuance of music education by supporting the critical infrastructure of independent music teachers across North America. This unprecedented gift of Celebration Series® books will enable us to continue this vital support.”

Gold Standard

  • The Piano Repertoire and Études series are considered one of the leading piano methods in Canada.
  • Released once every seven years, this series includes well-known classics and newly commissioned works.
