The Chamber Music Society of Mississauga (CMSM) has named pianist Cheryl Duvall its new artistic director.
Moving forward
After a six-month search, Duvall will be taking in the role from Peggy Hills, who has served as the founding director since founding the CMSM in 1997. We are told Hills will be transitioning her career towards teaching violin.
Familiar faces… Duvall has been a well-liked member of the Toronto music scene, particularly in the new music community. She can often be heard performing with the Thin Edge New Music Collective, collaborating with other musicians such as Ensemble Paramirabo, or performing solo. Duvall holds an Honours BMus and Diploma of Chamber Music from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Master’s of Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Toronto.
Congrats to Duvall on the new role. We look forward to following as she puts her unique stamp on CMSM.
