The Toronto Summer Music festival has confirmed that the upcoming season has been cancelled due to concerns amid the coronavirus crisis.
“For the safety of everyone in our community, at home and abroad, we cannot in good conscience put on a Festival and Academy that centre around large gatherings, social events, and close ensemble work, given the current extent and spread of COVID-19,” said TSM Artistic Director Jonathan Crow. “We hope you will join us next year to celebrate music and community together once again.”
Ticket holders are being offered refunds, or the option to donate the value of their tickets. Patrons can contact the RCM Box Office starting Monday, April 13 until June 30. Details here.
The festival was scheduled to run July 9 to August 1, 2020.
