Video On Demand:

Here are some more interesting free streams by other companies as well as by individual artists:

1) Here’s a great Parsifal I’ve seen live – the Munich Opera Parsifal starring Jonas Kaufmann and Nina Stemme, conducted by Kirill Petrenko. | Details

2) Unlike other opera companies, the Canadian Opera Company has not been televising complete operas for years. That said, their new digital initiative, #OperaAtHome, is worth checking out. It offers one video clip every day at 11 a.m. of either moments from favourite past productions or original performances from resident and visiting artists, available on its Facebook page or here:

3) Salzburg Easter Festival is streaming a fantastic lineup of performances with top singers: Apr. 4-6 Die Walkure; 6-8 Otello; 8-10 Cavalleria rusticana; 10-12 Pagliacci, 12-14 Arabella. | Details

4) Here’s a fun video clip for you Wagner addicts out there – and God knows we need a laugh or two these days! It’s Das Rheingold – Coronadammerung, in a hilarious “staging.” It stars the wonderful mezzo Jamie Barton and bass-baritone Ryan McKinny. Enjoy!

5) Finally, I leave you with this video clip, of musicians of the Volksoper Wien playing a two-minute excerpt of Donauwalzer from their respective homes, synched to an existing soundtrack. Wonderful!
