The Luminato Festival, Toronto’s largest annual arts festival which takes place over three weeks in June, has been cancelled.

“In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, and with the health and well-being of our artists, our staff and volunteers, and our audiences above everything else in our minds, it is with great sadness that we cancel Luminato Festival Toronto 2020. Given Luminato’s origins as an initiative to help rejuvenate Toronto after SARS, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to the City in this moment, and also later, when we return.”

The festival was scheduled to take place June 11–28, and would have been the festival’s 14th consecutive season.

Luminato had yet to announce the program for the 2020 season, but would have spanned multiple performances and events in theatre, dance, music, food, ideas, visual art, and installations held in various venues across Toronto.

Representatives from the Luminato Festival will be reaching out to ticket holders directly to arrange ticketing options.
