THE SCOOP | Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry To Debut As Cannon Doll In ‘The Nutcracker’

It’s not every day an NBA basketball star gets to debut in a ballet, but that’s exactly what will happen next week at the National Ballet Of Canada’s annual production of The Nutcracker.

2019 NBA Champion Toronto Raptors’ point guard Kyle Lowry will make his appearance as a celebrity Cannon Doll in The Nutcracker on December 19 at 7:00 pm.

To date, the National Ballet has invited over 1,080 personalities to make walkon appearances in the holiday classic dressed in vibrant customs resembling Russian Petrouchka dolls.

This season’s Cannon Dolls include Paralympians Cody Caldwell and Mike Whitehead from Team Canada, Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Tennis Athletes Gillian Cruz and Anne-Marie Dolinar from Team Ontario, Stars Lead Singer Torquil Campbell, Co-Founder of WE Marc Kielburger, Soprano Measha Brueggergosman, Comedian Candy Palmater, Author Jesse Thistle and Host of Mary’s Kitchen Crush Mary Berg.
