THE SCOOP | Pax Christi Chorale Appoints New New Executive Director

By Michael Vincent on May 28, 2019

Toronto’s Pax Christi Chorale has named Board Member and Choir Coordinator Danielle McCandless as their new Executive Director.

Industry insiders might recognize her name as the partner of principal trumpet at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO), Andrew McCandless. The two have two children together and are familiar faces in Toronto’s classical music community.

“Danielle is well-known by the choir by her exceptional work in her role as Choir Coordinator over the past year, wrote Carol E Ringer, Pax Christi Chorale Board Chair on their website. “Danielle has held management positions in other organizations, worked with other boards, had leadership roles in organizations undergoing significant role changes and she brings a wide network of peers, colleagues and friends from the artistic community.”

Danielle McCandless studied music at the University of Toronto and has worked for the TSO,  Ten Thousand Villages, and The Midwives Clinic of East York Don Mills.

McCandless will replace current Executive Director Helen Nestor, who has served in the role since January 2018.
