THE SCOOP | Hamilton Philharmonic's Conductor Joins Prestigious Primo Artists New York Roster

Primo Artists has signed Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra’s conductor Gemma New (32) to its roster for General Management.

Primo Artists is one of New York City’s premier Entertainment agencies. It currently represents violinist/conductor Itzhak Perlman, violinists Joshua Bell and Nicola Benedetti, pianists Beatrice Rana and Seong-Jin Cho, and conductors Cristian Măcelaru and Christian Reif.

‘I am delighted to welcome her to the Primo Artists roster, Charlotte Lee, Founder of Primo Artists, said in a press release statement. “She has a natural expressiveness on the podium and a brilliant combination of dynamism, musical sensitivity and authority. I am very much looking forward to working with her and building on what is already a highly exciting career.”

Gemma New took to Twitter to share the news:

Originally born in New Zealand, Gemma New is the Music Director of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Resident Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.

She was recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a position she will assume in the 2019/20 season.
