The Toronto Summer Music festival (TSM) have announced the appointment of Canadian Vanessa Goymour as new Executive Director.

Goymour replaces Pat McKinna who has served as interim Executive Director since the departure of former ED Natasha Bood last summer.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to continue the amazing work TSM has done for the past 14 years, and I eagerly anticipate working with Jonathan, the board of directors, and the TSM team to take the Festival to the next level with exciting programming, international artists, and the important mentoring programs for advanced music students and for professionals who have pursued non-music careers, yet continue to improve their musical abilities,” said Vanessa. “I have been an administrator for many years now, but at the core I am a musician first, so this is a wonderful extension of that.”

Goymour brings extensive experience to the role, particularly in festival production, arts management and education. She had held positions as General Manager and Artistic Advisor of Jeunesses Musicales Ontario, Regional Manager at the Royal Conservatory (Alberta), and Manager of Outreach at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and most recently, Director of Community Engagement and Education with Ottawa Chamberfest.
