Continuing with our six part composer video interview series, Canadian composer, Vincent Ho sits down for a historic interview with one of the worlds most talked about musical minds: 2014 Pulitzer Prize winner and recent GRAMMY laureate John Luther Adams.
The in-depth interview touches upon Adam’s fascinating process behind the creation of his enveloping Become Ocean. They also delve deep into a discussion of the role of the composer in society, education, the unexpected benefits of late recognition, and the principles that info Adams’ unique musical philosophy.
Adams was in Winnipeg last week for the first time to participate in the 24th annual Winnipeg New Music Festival, where his massive orchestral work, Become Ocean was performed by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
