Maxim Emelyanychev, Principal Conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, leads the TSO in four performances of Tchaikovsky’s beloved Sleeping Beauty, using a version of the Suite he compiled himself. The fantasy theme continues with the prelude to Humperdinck’s fairy-tale opera, Hansel and Gretel. TSO Principal Bassoon Michael Sweeney is the soloist for the Bassoon Concerto by Italian-Canadian composer Marjan Mozetich, a work Sweeney commissioned and premiered in 2003.
