Sinfonia Toronto | Mozart & Mozetich
January 20, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$55.97Memories and Melodies
Meditation honouring a grandmother, Mozart’s ‘Dissonant’ quartet, and a modern romance for bassoon and marimba
Sinfonia Toronto’s “MOZART & MOZETICH – Memories and Melodies” concert will travel through an unusual and beautiful sonic landscape. A concerto by Canadian composer Marjan Mozetich combines the rich tones of both bassoon and marimba with strings to create gorgeous harmonies and textues in a work that should become as popular as his famous “Affairs of the Heart” violin concerto.
Métis composer Karen Sunabacka’s evocative “Never to Return” honours her great-great grandmother’s life on the prairies, and Maestro Nurhan Arman’s orchestral arrangement of Mozart’s “Dissonant” quartet rounds out a diverse program.
