Alexis Ffrench has high ambition. As a pianist and composer, he has set out to bring joy to a world of troubled times. He also wants to change the way people perceive classical music and to help make it more inclusive and democratic, more relevant to the society in which we live.
He’s something of a phenomenon in the classical world as one of the most streamed artists (100m+) and over 1.5m monthly Spotify listeners.
During this exclusive interview, Ffrench will chat about his career, how he’s dealing with the COVID-19 lockdown, and talk about the journey to create his follow-up album ‘Dreamland’ with Sony Music. In the past two years, Ffrench has performed in New York, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Japan and London, including the stunning Union Chapel and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, which he sold out in 2019.
This interview is hosted by Michael Zarathus-Cook.
