The Toronto Children’s Chorus will set out on its 34th international tour in the summer of 2026. The tour includes stops in Hong Kong and Singapore in July, where the Choir has been invited to perform at two choral festivals.

Artistic Director Zimfira Poloz will lead the tour of 38 TCC choristers (aged 12 to 17) and other TCC artistic leaders to represent Canada through not only performance, but musical and cultural exchanges. That includes collaborations with leading youth choirs from across the globe.

Tour Details

TCC Chamber Choir (TCC’s senior choir) was invited to be a Resident Choral Artist at the World Choir Festival-Hong Kong, which takes place from July 13 to 16, 2026.

The World Choir Festival incorporates a number of events, including an international choir competition, evening concerts, interactive workshops, and more.

Other Resident Choral Artists include the Youth choir “Kamēr…” of Latvia, under Artistic Director & Principal Conductor Jurģis Cābulis, the New Zealand Secondary Students Choir under Artistic Director & Conductor Susan Densem, the Guangzhou Children’s Choir, led by Artistic Director & Conductor Zhang Zhanbi, the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, led by Artistic Director & Conductor Kathy Fok, and The Mad Singers, based in Hong Kong, led by Artistic Directors & Conductors Danny Wu and Christien Wong.

The showcase of choral arts takes place each year, and brings thousands of choristers and choral leaders together from across the globe. The TCC Chamber Choir will perform in Festival concerts, and lead interactive workshop. Dr. Poloz will also be a member of the International Jury for the competition portion of the Festival.

After Hong Kong, TCC travels to Singapore for the Voices of the World International Choir Festival by Voices of Singapore, which takes place from July 16 to 20, 2026. TCC will act as a headline guest choir, and as such will present a recital, as well as performing in a concert with the Voices of Singapore Children’s Choir.

Dr. Poloz will serve as a Guest Conductor and Master Class Clinician.

“I am so proud to travel with these young singers to Asia, and to perform as invited guest artists at two such significant international festivals. TCC performing on the international stage contributes to both the Canadian choral landscape and to the growth of our young singers,” said Dr. Zimfira Poloz, TCC Artistic Director in a statement.

“TCC will share Canadian choral artistry to an international audience and highlight works by Canadian composers, choreographers and musicians in our concerts. But most importantly, this tour provides transformative international experiences for our young singers, experiences that build their artistic and performance skills, their confidence and leadership, and enhance their sense of global citizenship.”

Toronto Preview

Toronto audiences will be able to experience the repertoire that TCC Chamber Choir will be taking on tour before they set out.

The TCC Chamber Choir will perform their final concert of the 2025/26 season on June 27 at Eglinton St. George’s United Church. The program for the concert, titled Canada to the World, includes a cappella music from Canada and Asia enhanced with choreography.
