The Elora Singers and Elora Festival announced the departure of Executive Director Laura Adlers in a post on social media.

The post expresses the organization’s thanks and wishes of good will, as well as a statement from Laura Adlers.

“When I moved to Elora from Ottawa three years ago to lead The Elora Singers and Elora Festival, we were as yet unaware of the onset of the pandemic and the many challenges we would all be facing, personally and professionally. I believe I landed in the right place at the right time.”

It continues, “I will be stepping down from my roles as Executive Director of both organizations at the end of February to relaunch my consultancy business, but will continue supporting the Singers as needed and will always be out there cheering The Elora Singers on, especially on March 13 when they announce the JUNO Awards!”

Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen commented, “Let me take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Laura for her unwavering dedication, hard work, and creative thinking over the past 3.5 years. She has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure our projects have been successful in very difficult and trying times. Laura has built an administrative team that has moved both organizations forward in many important ways, as she developed new relationships and innovative solutions for The Elora Singers and Festival that continue to make a tremendous impact.

“Thank you, Laura, for being a wonderful colleague and friend. I know that you will do wonderful things in the next stage. Your contributions will not be forgotten, and we all wish you every success. You will be greatly missed!”

All the best to Laura Adlers, and the JUNO-nominated Elora Singers and Festival as they begin the search for a replacement.
