Everybody likes a good mystery. If you’ve got kids or are just looking for something fun to do this summer, this is for you.
The Immersive event company Planet Fabulon opens a free, outdoor, augmented reality (AR) experience starting July 14.
Splinter-Dimensional is a narrative AR adventure that promises to take you on a 15-minute scavenger hunt using your cell phone. The game uses quick response (QR) codes to reveal clues you’ll need to save the story’s hero in real-time.
Afterwards, visitors will be rewarded with a virtual dance party with Toronto DJ “Me Time”.
“Planet Fabulon has created an immersive experience using augmented reality that’s safe and fun, and allows you to get out of your house and into nature. Splinter-Dimensional is the perfect antidote to months of lockdowns,” says Luminato Toronto Festival’s Alex Rand.

Digging deeper
Toronto is fertile ground for immersive experiences. Last year’s Van Gogh Exhibit was one of the hottest events of the year. The show has since expanded to 20 cities across North America.
