It's official: Michael Mori is the new artistic director at Tapestry Opera

Michael Mori, who has been overseeing the artistic side of Tapestry Opera as artistic director designate since last June, is now officially the pioneering company’s artistic head.

The company made the announcement in a press release yesterday. The timing coincides with the company’s next public event: the Tapestry Songbook, being presented in its Ernest Balmer Studio in the Distillery District on Saturday.

Mori, who joined Tapestry in 2011, has a broad background as a performer, director and administrator. His appointment hopefully marks the end of an unsettled period in the company’s history, which I wrote about here.
