Heppner, who is about to begin a stint as host of Saturday Afternoon at the Opera will, starting Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. Eastern, stay in the studio to host an additional hour of music and anecdotes.
Backstage with Ben Heppner will also air on Sundays at 10 a.m. Eastern, the CBC announced.
Heppner’s playlist will mix vocal and instrumental works.
“This is an incredibly exciting journey for me,” said Heppner in the news release. “It’s all about music and stories, and my idea is to be telling [stories] about my life as an opera singer when I’m out on the road, and also I think I want to let people know what’s behind the curtains – so a little bit backstage.”
