The Art of Time Ensemble announced its four-show 2013-14 season, which opens with a new programme built around the relationship between faith and music. The third presentation, in May 2014, will be a programme of duets featuring Branford Marsalis and Art of Time artistic director, pianist Andrew Burashko.

The Enwave Theatre-based season opens on Oct. 25 and 26 with jazz vocal star Jackie Richardson and David Fallis’s Choir 21 in a programme entitled What is Sacred. It will include a mix of styles, from Gospel to the 17th century setting of the Miserere Psalm setting by Gregorio Allegri.

The second show, on Feb. 21 and 22, mixes acoustic and digital music with choreography by Peggy Baker. The programme will include premieres of new works by Jonathan Goldsmith and Christos Hatzis.

In April, 2014, Art of Time reprises its I Send You This Cadmium Red programme, which was a co-production with Canadian Stage  two seasons ago. It is a collaboration with theatre director Daniel Brooks.

Sax king Marsalis and Burashko go duo in May, 2014, marking the official end to the season.

Art of Time also announced a one-night-only November, 2013 return to Koerner Hall of its popular Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band show, invited to be part of the Royal Conservatory of Music performance season.
