Mozart, Lully and a return to Versailles for Opera Atelier next season

By John Terauds on February 5, 2013

perseeOpera Atelier has just announced its 2013-14 season. It features remounts of its excellent 2008 production of Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio and a re-visit with Jean-Baptiste Lully’s great Persée.

The Toronto performances of Persée in the spring of 2014 will be followed by a return engagement at the Château de Versailles, which has not seen a production of Lully’s opera since it inaugurated the royal opera house in 1770.

The casting for both operas is a mix of familiar Opera Atelier collaborators as well as some débuts.

You’ll find all the details at Opera Atelier’s redesigned website, here.
