By John Terauds on November 17, 2012

Yannick Nézet-Séguin

Today’s broadcast of CBC Radio 2’s Saturday Afternoon at the Opera features soprano Adrianne Pieczonka in last season’s Canadian Opera Company production of Tosca.

This was an excellent all-’round production, with Pieczonka a regal standout. The broadcast starts at 1 p.m (Eastern). Details here.

Meanwhile, medici.tv is offering free high-definition audio and video streaming of three excellent all-Schumann concert programmes led by star Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, captured over consecutive nights earlier this month at Salle Pleyel in Paris.

The first includes Gautier Capuçon in the Cello Concerto — details here.

The second includes Renaud Capuçon in the Violin Concerto — details here.

The third includes Nicholas Angélich in the Piano Concerto — details here.
