Just released is this magical half-hour of pianist Arthur Rubinstein being reunited with his favourite concert piano at Steinway’s Hamburg factory, captured on film in 1966.
The video beautifully captures the bond between artist and instrument in the first 7 minutes. There more interesting stuff after that about Chopin and Brahms memorabilia Rubinstein had picked up — as well as a bit more of him playing the piano.
