Toronto Symphony Orchestra | Sibelius Symphony 2
January 13, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$60.75
Eminent American conductor David Robertson marshalls all the heroic sweep of Symphony No. 2 by Finnish giant Jean Sibelius. Violinist Leila Josefowicz—hailed in Gramophone magazine as “a fantastic talent”—illuminates the clear-textured neoclassical concerto by Stravinsky. The program opens with the concert suite from Kurt Weill’s The Threepenny Opera, with its saucy original version of the pop-song standard, “Mack the Knife”. (Pictured: Leila Josefowicz, violin)
