Toronto Symphony Orchestra | Mahler Symphony 5
October 3, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 8:00 pm, repeating until October 4, 2018

Mahler’s mighty Fifth Symphony charts a potent emotional arc from chilling darkness and thunderous despair to the blazing summit of joyous ecstasy. Its heart lies midway through the journey, in the lush, haunting Adagietto for strings and harp. Artistic Leader and Chief Conductor of the Trondheim Symfoniorkester Han-Na Chang makes her TSO conducting début, joined by the Spanish pianist Javier Perianes, whom London’s Sunday Times praised for his “utter brilliance.” (Pictured: Javier Perianes, piano)
Program:
Ravel: Piano Concerto in G
