Acclaimed Lebanese-Canadian soprano and COC Ensemble Studio graduate Miriam Khalil (Mimì in the COC’s La Bohème) has been praised for her “gorgeous, romantic, arching sound that immediately commands the ear” (Opera Canada). She joins conductor and pianist Topher Mokrzewski for a program focused mainly on composers who drew inspiration from Eastern themes or used text by Eastern poets, as well as a few Arabic songs.
