Brott Music Festival | Symphonie Fantastique!

Symphonie Fantastique’s five-part symphony was created by Berlioz to win over an Irish actress.

This symphony tells a strange and dark story, provoked by the different emotions Berlioz felt. It shows his love through the flirtatious flutes, anger and execution with the drums, a beautiful and elegant ball with the harp and finally the dark sounds of a funeral through the tuba and bassoon.

Symphonie Fantastique is full of twists and turns, poison, deception, love, and trickery. The evening will also feature Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with Élisabeth Pion making her Ontario debut. Élisabeth Pion is known internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and artistic collaborator.
