We’ve all heard about the story behind the Rite of Spring première riots. It was all just too much too fast for an audience wondering where Ravel went. In this video you will see Stravinsky play his famous”Rite of Spring” poly-chord for ten minutes. Phillip Glass, can relate. For those post-tonal theory geeks out there, the chord basically an Eb dominant seventh chord in first inversion played alongside a Fb major triad with the root doubled at the octave.
