Enjoy new music with our classical music chart for this week. Our weekly selections are based on sales numbers and simply what albums we love and think you NEED to hear.
For the complete top 20, tune into Classical Chartz with the New Classical FM’s Mark Wigmore every Saturday from 3-5 p.m. Check out the entire Top Twenty here.

The one-two spots on the Classical Chartz remain unchanged for yet another week, taken up by the Summer Night Concert 2025 of the Vienna Philharmonic with conductor Tugan Sokhiev at No. 1, and French composer Lorien Testard’s video game soundtrack Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at No. 2.
Remarkably, and in the same spirit, Steven Osborne’s Schubert, and Ensemble Masques with Bach Telemann Albinoni, hang on to their No. 3 and No. 4 spots respectively.
What’s new comes in at No. 8: A Dawning, by Olafur Arnalds and Talos. The album makes a giant leap from No 15 last week to land at the No. 8 position.
Talos, aka Eoin French, was an indie Irish electronic musician. The native of Cork was also noted as a singer-songwriter, and their collaboration, not long before French’s untimely death due to cancer in 2024, blends their musical styles. The album’s tone, despite the circumstances, is hopeful and upbeat, and meant as a tribute to Talos and his legacy.
The music blends orchestral and electronic textures with snippets of conversations discussing the nature of art, and is both lyrical and contemporary it its approach.
It’s a unique chemistry between disparate artists who will, sadly, be unable to repeat the exercise.
