The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that they will be joining tenor Andrea Bocelli for his performance at the newly revamped TD Coliseum on December 9. A total of 70 HPO musicians will perform with Bocelli for what will be the only Canadian stop on his world tour.

“We are honoured to share the stage with Andrea Bocelli this December and be part of one of the first concerts in the newly transformed TD Coliseum,” said HPO Executive Director Kim Varian in a statement.

“As Hamilton’s professional orchestra, the HPO has a long history of performing with world-renowned artists in Hamilton and we are thrilled to add Andrea Bocelli to that roster. We look forward to working with Bocelli and supporting our venue partners at Oak View Group at one of the first events at the soon-to-be transformed TD Coliseum.”

Andrea Bocelli In 2025

Andrea Bocelli has been riding a wave of popularity since launching his 30th anniversary season celebrations in 2024.

The Italian tenor was born in the Tuscan countryside, and lost his sight at an early age, but his affinity for music also came to him during his childhood.

“Opera is music’s heaven,” he says in his 2024 biodoc, Because I Believe.

His international career was launched, though, by a series of high profile duets. His album Duets (30th Anniversary), which reprises and adds to his collection of signature duets recorded over the decades, spent months on the Classical Chartz.

The TD Coliseum

The TD Coliseum, which has gone under a few different names over its history, will reopen on November 21 with a concert by Paul McCartney.

“We are thrilled that our partner, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, will be joining the renowned Andrea Bocelli when he takes the stage at TD Coliseum this December,” said Nick DeLuco, Senior Vice President, and General Manager of TD Coliseum.

“Showcasing Hamilton’s own orchestra alongside a global icon is a powerful way to celebrate the incredible talent in our community and shine a spotlight on our city’s vibrant cultural scene.”

Andrea Bocelli: Ticket Scarcity

As of today, standard tickets for Bocelli’s performance are sold out, but you can still purchase official Platinum tickets can through Ticketmaster.
