Sex T-Rex’s unique and award-winning Crime After Crime (After Crime) returns to the stage for the first ever Barrie Theatre Festival, presented by Theatre By The Bay. The show will be presented August 7 to 12 as part of the Festival’s Canada-Wide Series.

The Toronto-based company is known for its physical comedy, and Crime After Crime (After Crime) presents the story of the Stone Family and their rise and fall in Crime City, USA. It’s part 1950s film noir, part heist movie circa 1972, with a little classic 90s buddy cop thrown into the mix.

Over generations of familial trauma, Sex T-Rex uses their signature cinematic comedic sense to reveal the family’s dark side. Audiences can expect stage combat, swing-dance car chases, and lots of stupid goofs.

Toronto based Sex T-Rex blend comedy with a cinematic and theatrical style, incorporating an off-beat physicality and parody into award-winning shows. The members, Conor Bradbury, Julian Frid, Seann Murray and Lowen Morrow, are based in an improv background, and bring that high energy performance style to their scripted shows.

They have toured through North America, collecting high praise for their productions, which include award winning shows at Atlantic Fringe in 2014 and 2016, Just For Laughs Best Comedy 2015 and Pick of Vancouver Fringe 2017, Second City Outstanding Comedy, 2016) and sold out runs at Toronto Fringe Festival.

Crime After Crime (After Crime) won the Just For Laughs Best Comedy award in 2018, and Best of Toronto Sketch Fest in 2019.

Most recently, the troupe took home the 2024 Dora Mavor Moore Award — Outstanding Ensemble.
