Enjoy new music with our classical music chart for this week. Our weekly selections are based on sales numbers and simply what albums we love and think you NEED to hear.
For the complete top 20, tune into Classical Chartz with the New Classical FM’s Mark Wigmore every Saturday from 3-5 p.m.

There’s a lot of movement in the Chartz for this week. The number 1 and 2 spots switched places from last week, with Christian Tielemann and the Vienna Philharmonic and their New Year’s Concert 2024 landing at the top spot. Andre Rieu’s Jewels of Romance drops to the second position.Canadian violinist James Ehnes & the BBC Philharmonic with conductor Sir Andrew Davis climb from No. 5 to 3, and Bruce Liu’s Waves makes an even higher leap from No. 9 to 5.
New to the Top Ten is Aled Jones and One Voice — Full Circle, making the big climb from 15th spot up to No. 8. Welsh singer and actor Aled Jones has been a TV and radio personality since childhood. He first rose to fame as a teenager with his version of Walking in the Air as part of the 1982 animated film The Snowman.
A newly rediscovered documentary film features Aled singing as a child in 1983. The album is his third and last of what the artist calls his “little Aled, big Aled” series, with ten tracks that feature modern-day adult Aled singing in duet with his younger self. Also included on the release are some of his greatest hits, including a piano-only version of Walking in The Air, with Aled himself at the keys. The repertoire incorporates everything from Ave Maria to Bright Eyes and pop hits.
