THE SCOOP | National Youth Orchestra Canada Announce First European Tour in Over a Decade

NYO Canada (National Youth Orchestra Canada) has announced they will embark on an International tour between July 26, 2016, and August 13, 2016.

The 2016 TD tour will include regular city stops in Toronto, Montreal, and for the first time in ten years – Europe.

NYO Canada will perform as an invited guest at the second annual LisBon MusicFest in Lisbon, Portugal, as well as yet to be announced dates.

The NYO is a major breeding ground for Canadian classical musicians and has produced approximately 40 percent of Canadian professional orchestra performers.

Every summer the NYO hold a summer institute for young Canadian musicians between the age of 16-28. The program provides comprehensive training, a concert tour, and recording sessions with zero tuition and available stipends, prizes and scholarships totaling more than $175,000.
