Cineplex $2 Community Day benefit film screenings won't include Met Eugene Onegin

By John Terauds on November 12, 2013

h-logo-enCineplex Entertainment announced this morning that, on Saturday, it will charge only $2 admission at many of its theatres. It is calling this a Community Day to raise money for the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

Because there’s an encore screening of the Metropolitan Opera’s Eugene Onegin on Nov. 16, I asked if this would be included in the $2 special.

No, replied company spokesperson Pat Marshall, who says Sony is the film donor for this year’s Community Day. All the proceeds, which include $2 sales of pop and popcorn, go to the Olympic Foundation.

All of the participating films and theatres across Canada are listed here.
