Kent_NaganoAccording to La Presse music critic Claude Gingras, who has been following the local rumour mill, Montreal Symphony Orchestra music director Kent Nagano will not be renewing his contract with the organization when it expires in 2016.

According to Gingras, Zarin Mehta, who was for many years the orchestra’s general manager, has been hired to help find Nagano’s replacement.

The native Californian has been music director of the Montreal Symphony since 2006.
