Even with a COVID-19 lockdown, the 41st Dora Mavor Moore Awards are taking the “show must go on” maxim to heart with an all virtual presentation this year.

Announced today, the 2020 Dora Awards has released a total of 243 nominations across six divisions.

In the General Theatre Division, Soulpepper’s The Brothers Size leads with eight nominations out of a total of 18.

Not to be outdone, the Independent Theatre Division favours 20 productions with Coal Mine Theatre’s Marjorie Prime leading the pack with six.

The National Ballet of Canada’s mixed program Angels’ Atlas with Chroma & Marguerite and Armand dominates the Dance division with six of the 17 total production hopefuls.

The 2020 Leonard McHardy and John Harvey Award winner this year is visionary arts manager Monica Esteves. The award acknowledges the vital work of senior theatre, dance and opera administrators with a minimum of ten years of service.

Congratulations to all the nominees!
