Toronto’s flagship choir has announced their 2017–18 season which includes some noteworthy changes aimed at accommodating concert goers.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Noel Edison, they will be expanding three out of a total of four core subscription events from single, one-off concerts, to two-night runs. This will offer alternatives for busy concert patrons who may not be able to attend anyone particular night, but still be interested in attending.

The season opens on October 1 with a preview concert with the Elora Singers before they embark on a short tour of the Maritimes later that month.

The TMC will return with their holiday programs: Festival of Carols in December 5–6 at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, and Sacred Music for a Sacred Space — a program of music for contemplation and reflection in the beautiful space and acoustics of St. Paul’s Basilica on Good Friday with an additional performance on the Wednesday prior.

March 2018, the TMC and string orchestra will present a concert of contemporary music by composers: James MacMillan (The Seven Last Words on the Cross) and Arvo Pärt (Berliner Messe).

The TCM will hold their annual TMC Choral Conductors’ Symposium featuring 5 Symposium conductors on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church.

The choir will continue their concerts with the TSO and others but will cut back their from last years nine events, to a total of six.

Subscription tickets are available starting June 5. Single tickets will be available starting on September 5. Patrons who purchase two different concerts will save 10%, 15% with three concerts and 20% with four concerts.
