COFFEE BREAK | Toronto’s Ladom Ensemble Plays Radiohead Better Than Radiohead

Toronto’s Ladom Ensemble are not your typical chamber group. In many ways, they represent a changing definition of chamber music which sees musicians increasingly looking away from a purely Eurocentric purview.

“Ladom doesn’t pretend to represent any one tradition, but rather expresses a more authentically Canadian fusion. Ladom has a musical identity combined from many sources and reflects a beautiful new world with a Western classical toolset.”

The group formed after meeting at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music. Hailing from Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Quebec, and Iran, each of the five members have diverse backgrounds.

They can play pretty much anything. Even Radiohead.
