The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra is collaborating with the U.S. Consulate General Toronto and The Philadelphia Orchestra to present a free evening of chamber music and conversation. The concert takes place on April 16 at the Scarborough Citadel.
On stage: the Philadelphia Orchestra String Quartet, Toronto’s Odin Quartet, and the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Players for a an eclectic program. The Philadelphia String Quartet is in town to perform with the full orchestra and conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin at Koerner Hall on April 17.

The Philadelphia Orchestra has a world recognized reputation not only for musicianship, but in their commitment to engaging communities and connecting through music. While they’re in Toronto, they’ll also be visiting a Scarborough high school, and working with Sistema students.
Odin Quartet: Alex Toskov, Violin, Tanya Charles Iveniuk, Violin, Matt Antal, Viola, Samuel Bisson, Cello
The Odin Quartet was founded in 2015 with the goal of making classical music accessible to younger generations, and promoting contemporary Canadian compositions. They have been the ensemble-in-residence with the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018.
Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Players: Kaye Royer, Clarinet, Tiffany Yeung, Violin, Jacob Clewell, Viola, Chris Hwang, Cello (combined ensemble also includes Ronald Royer, SPO Music Director and Conductor, Julia Zisser, Violin, David Lasker, Bass, Lisa Tahara, Piano)
The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra was founded more than 40 years ago, offering accessible orchestra and chamber ensemble concerts to the community, while supporting Canadian artists and composers. Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Ronald Royer.
