PREVIEW | Cavalia’s illumi Brings World’s Largest Multimedia Show To Greater Toronto

illumi — billed as the largest sound, light and multimedia show in the world — takes over a field just west of Toronto in the GTA. Brought to audiences by the same team that created the high-end equine shows Cavalia and Odysséo, illumi will light up the night with millions of lights. illumi will be on display from September 14, 2022, to January 8, 2023 in Mississauga.

Along with the lights, cutting edge tech including HD projections, animatronic creatures, and innovative light structures will immerse audiences in an experience like no other.

“We are incredibly excited to call Mississauga the new home of illumi and spark the imagination, curiosity, and emotions of people of all ages across Ontario and beyond,” said Normand Latourelle, Creator and Artistic Director, Cavalia in a media release. “We are deeply proud of the immersive worlds we have created — all with the intent to bring people together to experience joy and wonderment in a unique, magical, and mesmerizing setting.”

The visual environments are each complemented by their own original soundtrack. illumi displays will also be decorated for Halloween and upcoming holidays.

About Cavalia

Founded by Normand Latourelle, Cavalia is a Canadian company with a unique specialty in producing large-scale live shows and entertainment. The family business incorporates technology, multimedia and special effects.

When the pandemic shut down the horse-based shows, the company turned to technology, creating illumi. The show has run in Quebec for three years, counting more than 1.5 million visitors.
