National Ballet of Canada Principal Dancer Siphesihle November has been invited to perform with the Cape Town City Ballet. He will appear as a Guest Artist in Cape Town, South Africa, on August 25, 2022.

He will be making his debut in the role of Romeo in Veronica Paeper’s Romeo and Juliet. The production, which began its run at the Artscape Opera House on August 4, will feature other guest artists, including Brandon Lawrence of the Birmingham Royal Ballet and Vadim Muntagirov of The Royal Ballet in London. Paeper’s choreography of Shakespeare’s classic tragic romance, set to Prokofiev’s iconic score, highlights the emotional journey of the story that encompasses both young love and old hatreds. The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Brandon Phillips for November’s performance.

Siphesihle November

It’s something of a triumphant homecoming for November, who was born in Zolani, SA. It will be his first guest performance in his native country.

After training at the National Ballet School, November joined the NBC’s Corps de Ballet in 2017. Since then, he’s quickly made his mark in the world of ballet.

He was the subject of a documentary in 2019, Beyond Moving, which charted his journey from South Africa to the National Ballet.

Congratulations on the opportunity, announced by Hope Muir, Joan and Jerry Lozinski Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada.
