The Canadian Opera Company has announced three new mainstage productions at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. The three productions are to be performed in the latter half of the 2021/2022 season.

The opera crowd-pleasers are:

Opera is coming back. Are we ready?

The announcement comes after the COC’s mid-August news stating that they will be sticking with an all-digital fall season for 2021.

It’s been 18-months since the COC last performed an in-person opera, so the news is cause for celebration for Toronto’s opera community.

“Through our digital fall, it’s been wonderful to be able to support artists, creators, and technicians in returning to the stage and sharing their talents with audiences from coast to coast to coast,” said COC General Director Perryn Leech. “Today, we’re delighted to announce even more ways to access the very best in Canadian opera, as we reintroduce in-person programming to our theatre. We have all missed the thrill of performing for live audiences and cannot wait to welcome everyone back this winter.”

Full details on casts and creative teams will be announced in October 2021, along with further information on a new subscription package to go on-sale October 14, 2021.
