With last week’s announcement of Victoria’s big three arts organisations cancelling live concert programming through 2020-21, we’ve been keeping a close eye on how Toronto’s art organisations are going to handle the precarious path forward.
If Soundstreams’ announcement today is any indication, it may be a while yet until we can enjoy the concert hall experience.
Until further notice, Soundstreams’ 2020-21 season is on hold, and all sales of subscription ticket packaged closed.
In a press release, Soundstreams they stated they would be taking a “digital-first, in-person later” strategy, and remain committed to presenting the best content funders allow them to produce.
“We have been busy working behind the scenes to create a roadmap for deciding on future shows. As soon as our health officials give the go-ahead, we will be back with programming that not only brings you the quality and engagement that you’ve come to expect over the last 38 years, but it will also be presented with the greatest concern for your safety and well-being.”
Soundstreams anticipates announcing further plans in June.
