Ludwig van Toronto

An Evening with Ludwig Van – Returns!

Roll call to join us for an exclusive screening of The Met Opera’s Porgy and Bess.

Last month we held our first “Evening With Ludwig Van” event simultaneously in two different cities – Toronto and Montréal.

The response was overwhelming, selling out in just two days. (Apparently, Toronto really loves its opera, but we knew that already, right?)

We originally planned the screening as a special “thank you” to our 100,000+ monthly readers who visit us every day to keep up with daily features, news, and reviews for the events that matter.

The news today is, we’re doing it again.

The next Evening with Ludwig Van will take place in both Toronto and Montréal on Saturday, March 28, at 5 pm.

This is a chance for you to see an opera for free alongside good friends who love classical music as much as you do.

Afterwards, join us for a drink and some food at the Cineplex lounge.

Here’s why you should come:

1: You’ll get to see an exclusive Encore screening of the 2020 Metropolitan Opera production of Porgy and Bess by Gershwin alongside friends who love opera as much as you do. This is a new Met production is directed by the great James Robinson in his company debut. You’ll hear a stellar cast including Donovan Singletary as fisherman Jake, Golda Schultz as his wife Clara, Latonia Moore as the bereaved widow Serena, Frederick Ballentine as drug dealer Sportin’ Life, Alfred Walker as the brutal stevedore Crown, and Denyce Graves as Maria, town matriarch and operator of the local cook-shop.

2: It’s free. (you’ll just need to pay for your popcorn)

3: It’s a chance to meet other opera lovers, just like you

And if all that wasn’t enough… a few writers of this fine, fine publication will be there shaking hands and kissing babies. How fun.

Tickets are limited, so don’t miss out.
