The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir have selected five conductors from across North America to participate in the annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium starting Jan 24, 2017.

The symposium fellows include four Americans and (only) one Canadian. They include:

Over five days, each conductor will receive about 200 minutes of invaluable podium under the close eye of TMC artistic director Noel Edison. Repertoire includes Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, as well as some contemporary Canadian works and a choral arrangement of Leonard Cohen’s popular Hallelujah anthem. Both the Elora Singers and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir members will participate in varying ensemble group sizes.

The symposium will wrap up with a free concert at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church on Saturday, January 28, at 3 pm. For those who can’t make it, it will also be live streamed here: livestream.com/TMChoir/ConductorsSymposium2017
