COFFEE BREAK | Tenor Falls Off Chair And Keeps Singing

YouTube Poster

(via) During a recent performance of a production of Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’amore, a tenor (Alex Frankel) climbs on a chair (never a good idea) and attempts to get on top of the table. The chair has other ideas and buckles under his weight, sending him crashing to the floor. While the audience gasps, Frankel makes a choice: “do I keep on singing, or succumb to the pain and humiliation?” Without missing a beat, he chooses to continue singing like nothing ever happened. Tenor fail for the win.

The performance was part of a Scenes concert for Marlena Malas’s program at the Chautauqua Institution.

We are happy to report he was not hurt.
