COFFEE BREAK | The Incredible Sound Of The Last Stradivarius Guitar

This video shows a performance on the only surviving (playable) Stradivarius guitar in the world. It is called, “The Sabionari” and was made by Antonio Stradivari himself in 1679. The guitar is owned by a private collector and was one of only a small number of baroque guitars made by the master luthier.

In the clip, you can hear guitarist Krishnasol Jimenez perform a beautiful rendition of Robert de Visèe’s Music dedicated to the Sun King in 1682. The guitar has been fully restored with four double Catgut strings (A D G B) and a single E string. The action is unique and gives it an almost lute-like sound.

To think that this guitar has been around for over 300 years, surviving countless hands, wars and even time itself.
